Modificaciones al estatuto minero chileno

Abstract

Since the enactment of the Mining Code in 1983, its content has remained practically intact. Although this contributed to the development of the industry by providing certainty to project developers, there were practices not desired by the legislator that do not currently facilitate their development. In December 2023, the Ministry of Mining promulgated Law N° 21.649 which addresses such concerns, constituting, incidentally, the largest modification to the mining statute in force in our country.
